Alison Legrand Hrindo, PhD

Ally Legrand Hrindo is a licensed psychologist with a passion for working with women, especially those at the intersection of reproductive and mental health across the lifespan. Dr. Legrand  has worked in community outpatient mental health and healthcare settings, working with individuals experiencing fertility challenges, perinatal mental health concerns, and perinatal loss. Further, Dr. Legrand has worked with women experiencing  chronic pelvic pain, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and other reproductive health challenges outside of pregnancy.

Dr. Legrand uses a holistic approach and evidence-based therapies such as ACT, CBT, mindfulness-based relaxation, self-compassion practices to help work with women in achieving their goals. She feels authenticity and empathy are essential in clinical work.

Throughout her training and professional experiences, Dr. Legrand has helped conduct research on PTSD (sexual trauma), worked with medical providers in the community to create meaningful care plans, collaborated with primary care teams, and focused on the specific, individual needs and interests of the women at the center of those care plans. Through her experiences, Dr. Legrand anecdotally noticed that women may assume their pain is something to be endured on their own, or that “It could be worse”, leading to suffering in silence. Although every individual path is unique, no one should have to travel it alone! She is open to working with individuals for consultation or longer-term therapy if indicated. She is immensely excited to join the It Takes a Village team in providing support to this community. Dr. Legrand is in-network with Bluecross Blueshield and Medicaid. She sees other clients via her self-pay rates.

In her free time, Dr. Legrand enjoys biking, weight lifting, live music, baking, and spending time anywhere outside with her husband and dog.
